Generally speaking almost all of the so called high yield investment programs or HYIPs are a scam. Even if a particular HYIP starts with a good faith, if at all, the high interest rate makes the program unsustainable in the long run. HYIPs may offer an interest rate ranging from 1% to 50% daily. This kind of rate is unattainable for any business on a daily basis.
Usually HYIP programs do pay some of the investors who happened to join at an early stage. It may or may not invest the money in the fund. Money it pays back to the investors usually comes from the new money funded by new investors. Therefore the HYIP stay alive til there is a supply of new money. Obviously it is destined to collapse as supply of new money ceases and the demand for profit increases.
HYIP "investors" usually follow a "hit and run" strategy to make profit. The strategy is that one has to invest as early as possible and to get out of it as soon as possible and obviously before the inevitable collapse of the program. Nevertheless, there is a very high risk of "investing" in such programs.
